June 2-5, 2008, New York City Daniel Klionsky, the webmaster of this site, while on business trip, got together with several Klionsky people living within New York City greater area.

The first stop was with Klion family, at the house of Bruce Klion. Bruce's father, Bart Klion, is the grandson of Barnet Klionsky (1874-1960) and Bruce, his son, is 4th cousin of Daniel. As always, the discussion evloved around the Klionskys, and the past genarations.

Later, Bart emailed to Daniel a picture of his grandfather Barnet taken on Barts wedding in 1955 (see above).

Next day, Daniel met with Alex Patish at Italian ristorante, ABBOCCATO, which is in midtown Manhattan. Alex is the great grandson of Mendel Klionsky(1872-1925) of Borisov and Daniel's 4th cousin. Since,

Both Alex and Daniel are computer-programmers. The conversation evolved around usability, programmability and operability of the Klionsky web site ( in addition to the Klionskys history and ties).

While in Manhattan, Daniel spent time with Ella Beilin, a granddaughter of Mendel "Mark Markovich" Klionsky (1867-1965) of Baku-Israel. She is Daniel's 3d cousin once removed. Ella shared a set of pictures from her archive.

The last meeting was at an Iraqi restaurant in Manhattan with Ella Beilin and her niece Lena Sinitsyn, great-granddaughter of Mendel "Mark Markovich" Klionsky (1867-1965) of Baku-Israel. Lena is Daniel's 4th cousin.

• Bruce Klion, Port Washington, Long Island, NY : born in Manhattan in 1957. Bruce works in sales for business-to-business publishing company. He is the great-grandson of Barnet Klionsky (1874-1960) .

  Bart Klion, Hartsdale, NY : born in Manhattan in 1928. Bart worked in sales for wallcovering manufacturing company. He is semi-retired now. Bart is the father of Bruce and the grandson of Barnet Klionsky (1874-1960) .

  Alex Patish, Brookly, NY : computer programmer with New York stock exchange, born in Minsk, Belarus in 1962, emigrated to United States in 1989. He is the great-grandson of Mendel Klionsky(1872-1925) of Borisov.

• Ella Beilin, NYC. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1939. The youngest daughter of Esphir Klionsky (1904-1953) of Baku, granddaughter of Mendel "Mark Markovich" Klionsky (1867-1965) of Baku-Israel. Ella worked as English teacher in Soviet Russia and in 1977 she and her daughter Natasha immigrated to the United States. Here, for 25 years she worked as paralegal for one of the largest immigration law firm. Ella retired in 2004 and lives in Manhattan.

• Lena Sinitsyn, Born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1956. The only daughter of Yulia Sinitsyn (b.1929), oldest daughter of Esphir Klionsky (1904-1953) of Baku. In 1992 Lena and her family immigrated to the United States. She works as superviser of the stem cell lab at Mt. Sinai Hospital, NYC. Lena and her family live in greater New York area, NJ side.
